Chasm or Chalice

“Though her soul requires seeing, the culture around her requires sightlessness. Though her soul wishes to speak its truth, she is pressured to be silent.”  ― Clarissa Pinkola Estés

There is a point in every woman's life, where she has a choice to become a Chasm or a Chalice. I am talking about the underlying emotional state of her being. Is she able to hold and nourish the holy wholeness, without having to be somebody or something special. Is she in touch with basic goodness and motivated to share from this place.

Every woman has the potential to be a wellspring of nourishment and well being, for others.

Often under the pressures of life, a woman can fall into the patterns of self denial and becomes a chasm of unmet needs, of fear and loneliness and self denial. This woman has a choice to discover her innate worth. She has the power to seal the gaps that are sucking her energy and leaving her vulnerable, emotionally confused and easily upset. And the power to renew herself, to live in real self assurance. But she must choose. And she must have access to the tools that sincerely support the process.

A sovereign woman is a chalice, she knows herself, what she can give and what she needs to say no to. She greets her life from a place of authentic self expression. She shines her own unique light out into the darkness of the world, and brings solace to confusion thru her soft lens of heartful clarity. She is not trying to be anybody to others , for she knows, just to be tenderly vulnerable and human is enough… she breaths, she laughs, she crys, she is alive.

The Chasm un addressed, remains concerned about what other people think, she defines herself worth on the outside, and looks for validation from her partner, her children, her work, social media, etc…, her life is a strategy on how to feel important. She is running from herself to avoid the self internalized feeling she has absorbed from a culture that does not value her basic existence, from a world that says she must be something other then herself to survive.

So how does a woman find her connection with that sacred center of calm, self acceptance and equanimity for relating in the world. How do we choose Chalice and radiate from this place. Where do we begin?

I believe its a kind of internal self gnosis that registers easily in a woman who chooses to reconnect with her power. I also understand that it is a process of healing and clearing old beliefs and wounds that have seeded in the feminine psyche out of self preservation.

Arriving home to this power, and self knowing is not always comfortable, but it is worth it! When we can return to the root of our basic goodness, and reside in a deeply rooted acceptance for our uniqueness, we have so much to offer our world, and this energy is contagious nourishment for our world.

“Each woman has potential access to Rio Abajo Rio, this river beneath the river. She arrives there through deep meditation, dance, writing, painting, prayer making, singing, drumming, active imagination, or any activity which requires an intense altered consciousness. A woman arrives in this world-between-worlds through yearning and by seeking something she can see just out of the corner of her eye. She arrives there by deeply creative acts, through intentional solitude, and by practice of any of the arts.”
